"Porthos," says Aramis quietly, but he lets the other man busy himself in peace. He'll certainly not be staying anywhere alone, whether they find a way home or not. Aramis has made a promise to him, and it means as much to him as any oath he ever took for France.

But he will help Athos to search. They will find nothing - Aramis knows this, just as he knows that Athos will never be easy if they do not try. He sighs, dragging a hand through his hair, tugging once before he lets it fall again.

"A vampire," he answers, ignoring the clear question posed to him by Athos' raised brow.
