Aramis' smile falters, but he pulls Porthos' rosary from his neck and hands it over. "Careful with this," he says needlessly, for he's certain both men know what it means to him.

Catching Porthos by the chin, he gives him a brief kiss and steps away, wandering out of the alley with the uneven steps of the intoxicated. Nearing a bench, Aramis pauses, then sinks down into it, looking for all the world like a man preparing to sleep in a public place. From the corner of his eye, he senses movement, though Aramis can't yet tell if they're monster or student. He turns his head to give them a sleepy smile.
