“I’m fine,” Athos feels the need to call after Aramis as the man descends the stairs. Nevertheless, he is inclined to remain with Porthos, leaning up against him, drinking in his warmth and his kindness. He isn’t sure he deserves either, but he is tired of resisting their call, whatever tensions might still exist between them.
